On a mission
I wont keep looking at my weight it will only depress me so I will only check at the end of each month. I’m not running to loose weight (although that would be nice) I want to feel good!

Welcome to Sweat365!
I’m sure you can reach your goal of running a half marathon! Have you picked a race to train for? Do you have a plan you are following? Check out our library section if you need tips.
As for your weight, I think you’ve got a good point… checking too often can be counter productive. I find that my weight can fluctuate as much as 5 lbs in a day simply due to water gain or dehydration…. so it’s much better to look at things over the long haul.
Good luck and welcome!

I begin Wk 4 of my fitness quest this week. Losing weight is a part of that quest. I’ve configured my nutrition needs to lose 1/2 of my weight through diet and 1/2 through exercise. Rather than be tied so much to the scale, I’m monitoring body fat % and inches. The tape measure and the body fat scale told me a more frightening story than the pounds!
Though I weight daily, I’m paying more attention to the weekly numbers AND the trend. Right now that is favorable! It sounds like you already have a very active lifestyle. I admire your goal to run a 1/2 marathon. Good luck!

I lost 75 lbs two years ago through Weight Watchers and walking 3-4 miles (fast pace) 5-6x/ week. In April, I started running a little. Ran my first 5k in June, training for a half marathon in October. It is a wonderful experience!! It is amazing what our bodies can do! Every time I add a mile to my training, I think I tapped out and it took all I had — but the next mile is there every time! I feel like such a bad ass! I love it! As far as daily weighing, I do that too. What it does for you is make sure you still care. When I was packing on the weight, I never stepped on the scale — allowed myself to go into denial. Do not get too discouraged by the numbers, it can be a very slow process, but vow never to go over a certain number. If you have the right perspective on weighing, make it a habit to check regularaly, whatever that may be! Best of luck to you!!
